HARRIER provides full, multi-functional surveillance coverage from ground level to altitudes above 20,000 feet AGL with simultaneous air and marine target detection, tracking and automatic intrusion alerting. HARRIER is an ideal, cost-effective solution for many force protection and homeland and industrial security applications.
DeTect’s radar processing technology developed specifically for detection and tracking of small, low radar-cross section, non-linearly moving, low altitude targets in high clutter environments make it one of the most sensitive, affordable Counter Unmanned Aerial System (C-UAS) technologies on the market.
DroneWatcher™ provides full surveillance coverage from ground level with UAS detection ranges out to 10+ miles.
Aircraft Detection Lighting Systems
In response to the Dark Sky initiative to reduce light pollution and customer demand, DeTect developed the HARRIER Aircraft Detection Lighting Systems (ADLS) for automatic obstruction lighting activation for aviation obstructions such as wind farm turbines, high voltage transmission lines and communication towers.
Drone Detection & Defense Systems
DroneWatcherRF is able to provide drone detection for over 95% of the commercially-available, consumer and prosumer drones on the market out to 1-2 miles providing detailed information including drone type, ID and other data. The DroneWatcherRF is a compact, unobtrusive electric box that is installed around the perimeter of a facility with only nominal power and network requirements (self-contained solar and cellular versions are available).
New drone signatures are continually being added to DeTect’s DroneWatcherRF identification database.
DroneWatcherRF also includes DeTect’s proprietary drone interdiction and inception functionality.
HARRIER DSR (drone surveillance radar) is a primary surveillance radar designed specifically for drone detection and tracking of small, low flying, non-cooperative targets in high clutter environments. DSR is able to detect and track small consumer, prosumer and military cooperative and non-cooperative drones within line of sight and at longer ranges out to 2+ miles with a longer range for larger UAV detection radar. The HARRIER DSR detects and tracks uncontrolled, programmed drones flying on autopilot that are not detectable by DroneWatcher APP and RF and interfaces with a wide range of ancillary sensors including video and DeTect third party interception technologies.

The Harrier System
DeTect’s HARRIER Beyond Line of Sight (BLOS) system is based on DeTect’s HARRIER Airspace Surveillance Radar technology and provides long-range airspace monitoring with automatic aircraft risk advisories including cooperative and non-cooperative aircraft detection to extend UAV operations beyond line-of-sight (BLOS).

Aircraft Birdstrike Avoidance Radar - DeTect’s MERLIN Aircraft Birdstrike Avoidance Radar system is the first production model bird strike radar system and is the most advanced and widely-used technology available for bird-aircraft strike hazard (BASH) management and for real-time detection, tracking and alerting of hazardous bird activity at commercial airports, military airfields, and military training and bombing ranges.

Aircraft Birdstrike Avoidance Radar - The MERLIN avian radar is proven, operational technology with over 250 MERLIN systems delivered to sites worldwide in aviation safety and environmental applications. MERLIN has a documented record in reducing bird strikes, increasing safety and reducing aircraft damage and delay costs at both military and commercial airfields. MERLIN is also the only bird radar system to have been evaluated and certified for real-time, tactical flight safety use by the US government (NASA and the USAF) and is the only bird radar approved for and in use at a commercial airport control tower under national flight safety standards.
Wind Energy Bird and Bat Radars - With the MERLIN SCADA bird and bat mortality risk mitigation feature, the MERLIN system can be used at operating wind farms to function as an “early warning” system providing advance detection of bird & bat activity that presents mortality risk, automatically engaging response mitigation actions up to and including idling of turbines until the risk passes. DeTect provides full operational and technical support to wind farm owners, developers, operators and consultants that includes system deployment, operation, user training, and data processing, analysis, reporting and QA/QC.

Bird Control Radar System - The MERLIN detect & deter bird control radar system is the most advanced and proven radar system for continuous monitoring of user-defined bird and wildlife control zones and automatic activation of bird deterrent devices to prevent birds entering restricted areas. MERLIN detect & deter is based on DeTect’s proven MERLIN Avian Radar System technology that is used by the USAF, NASA and airports worldwide to detect and monitor hazardous bird activity on and around airfields for bird-aircraft strike hazard management. MERLIN detect & deter applications include control of birds at industrial waste impoundments, oil & gas drilling frac ponds, landfills, stormwater retention basins, crop fields and any site that requires highly-effective, reliable, automated 24-7 bird control and protection.
Long Range Bioacoustic Units for Bird & Wildlife Control
Bird Control Radar System - These methods, although typically low capital cost suffer from limited effective range and loss of effectiveness through habituation. These methods often elicit nuisance noise complaints due to their inability to be effectively directed to specific areas. DeTect has pioneered application of the Long Range Bioacoustic Units (LRBU) for bird control.
The LRBU units are planar array acoustic emitters originally developed for military force protection and security that are capable of projecting a highly focused, controlled beam of noise at extended ranges of almost one mile at up to 80 decibels in volume.
